Pregnancy is a very exciting time for everyone concerned. The person it will affect the most of course is the woman. Pregnancy is unique and there's nothing else quite like it! Each pregnancy is different. So, if you have been through it before, you may still learn something a little different this time around.

It's normal for people to be nervous when thinking about giving birth. Some of the stories about labor and childbirth are downright frightening! If anyone has shared their stories with you, they may have you in fear of what is in store. Take a deep breath. It's going to be ok. Remember, this is how nature intended for this to be, so it must be ok.

The normal length of a pregnancy is around 40 weeks, however each pregnancy is different and you might be slightly less, or slightly longer than this time.

During these 40 weeks there will be loads of changes, not just physical changes to your body, but also changes you will have to make to your life. Pregnancy is a taxing time on both your body, and your wallet.

Throughout your pregnancy, you need to make sure you are getting regular checkups to know things are going properly. You should book a prenatal visit every month until you go into labor. You should also be preparing to give birth. Learn about labor and delivery. You should also spend time choosing the delivery option you would like to use and organizing everything. You may want to talk to your obstetrician about this. Ultrasound scans will be used to check the health of your baby, your doctor will then be able to suggest the right birthing option for you.

Education is very important, by taking time to learn about labor you will be much less nervous. By understanding what it is you need to do should make doing it much easier.

A couple of weeks before your due date you should pack a bag containing everything that you will need to take to hospital, this includes the things that you will need for your newborn baby. Get help from someone close to you to make sure you don't forget something.

Preparing for delivery is very important as it will help you know what to expect and will ensure you are ready when the time comes.
