  1. Take a home pregnancy test (or two) and test positive!
  2. Share the amazing news with your partner.
  3. Schedule your first appointment with your OB/GYN.
  4. Start taking pre-natal vitamins. If you can't get a prescription yet, try over the counter pre-natal vitamins and a DHA supplement. (Check with your OB/GYN before taking ANY medication.)
  5. Avoid raw and undercooked meat, fish high in mercury, unpasteurized cheese and milk, raw eggs, and caffeine. More information on foods to avoid during pregnancy.
  6. Go to your first OB/GYN visit.
  7. Decide when and how you are going to tell your friends and family the good news.
  8. Start thinking about when you are going to notify work that you are pregnant.
  9. Make a To Do list of all outstanding projects you would like to complete before your baby arrives and get to work!
  10. Start doing Kegel exercises every day.
  11. Get into a good exercise routine if you have not already. More information on safe exercise for each trimester.
  12. Go to your second OB/GYN appointment for your first trimester screening and to obtain fetal heart tones!
  13. Sign up for baby care and safety classes offered by your hospital (they usually fill up quickly).
  14. Start looking into cord blood banking. If you are going to do it, you can usually get a discount for early enrollment. More information on cord blood banking.
